BRANDT, Jennifur. North Hollywood, CA. 1994. Staple-bound. Xerox. ACCEPTABLE Condition. Horizontal Line Cuts Across Center From Mail Fold [each issue was mailed out sans envelope]

A per’zine in the per-est sense of the word, each page's layout like a teenager’s bedroom wall – come to think of it, not a bad combo with Adrienne Salinger’s IN MY ROOM! NoHo high school girl Jennifur Brandt was an early zinester success story. She took the underground railroad of pre-internet riot grrl networking to the top floor, got featured in Tamra Davis’ MTV doc NO ALTERNATIVE GIRLS, a cameo in Amy Heckerling’s CLUELESS, and, later, a tv development deal to make a sitcom about her life, the pilot of which I am, admittedly, dying to see. But I’m sure ol’ Jennifur inspired the ire of her less-outgoing/ambitious/cute peers, and just like nobody wants to ever see that Rookie girl’s face again, it was sadly, too, to be Jennifur’s fate. Nevertheless, this zine remains a rad time-warp of music and LA in the '90s! Imagine a Francesca Lia Block character like Weetzy Bat come to life!

This lot of three issues contain some of the best PESKY content, like an interview with Annette, original member of Red Kross and The Bangles (née The Bangs), fan shrines to Crispin Glover and Bjork, and a special girl's guide to not getting one's period.
